University Of Belgrade
The University of Belgrade is a state university founded in 1808. It provides education in sciences and mathematics, technology and engineering sciences, medical sciences, social sciences and humanities and consists of 31 faculties, 11 research institutes and 13 University centres. With 100,000 students and 8000 employees (5000 research & teaching staff) offering more than 350 study programs, it is an academic community that is well-positioned in the scientific world.
Our mission is to provide superior education and exceptional knowledge to students, not only in terms of their intellectual growth and development but also in terms of their human qualities and ethical values; moving the boundaries of knowledge and higher education, promoting intellectual surroundings and honours true values, respect and accepting people’s differences. The Faculty of Forestry of the University of Belgrade is the highest scientific institution of higher education in the fields of Forestry, Wood Science and Technology, Landscape Architecture and Ecological Engineering in Serbia, with a 100-year-long tradition. The main aim of the University of Belgrade ‒ Faculty of Forestry is the improvement of competitiveness in scientific and educational fields, and at the same time preserving the traditional values. Besides keeping the values based on national and cultural features that enrich the European academic educational field, the aim of the reform of the scientific and educational work at the Faculty is also the protection of natural heritage, sustainable utilization of natural resources on ecological grounds and general environmental protection with the application of modern technologies.
